You can have a clean, hygienic and sparkling home without using harsh chemical cleaners. Your family will be healthier and you will have less impact on the environment.
Most of the cleaning products will probably already be in your home. Check your pantry for vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. These ingredients can clean any surface in any room of your home. They leave no dangerous toxins in your home and they will not damage the environment. You may think vinegar will smell bad but it actually dries leaving a fresh smell. The bicarbonate of soda needs to be wiped off or it will leave a streak but if you use cream cleanser, you would be wiping that off anyway.
Vinegar is a natural germ killer and preservative. Use it mixed with water to clean all surfaces you would use multi-purpose cleaner, window cleaner, shower cleaner, disinfectant, bleach, toilet cleaner and floor cleaner to clean.
You can use Bicarbonate of soda as an air freshener in your carpet and in your drains. Try using it dry to polish glass for example vases and if mixed into a paste use it as a stain treatment on surfaces like kitchen benches and chopping boards. Sprinkle some onto a damp cloth and wipe down your sink for a brilliant sparkle. It will take the place of cream cleansers if you mix it into a wet paste with a bit of water. Rinse it off and it produces a lovely shine. Bicarbonate of soda is great as a freshener for sports shoes. Just sprinkle some in and leave for a few minutes then shake it out. It is a great air fresher for inside the fridge. Leave a cup or bowl full inside your fridge and it will pick up odours like onion or any strong smelling flavours, which can taint your milk. Change the powder every time you clean your fridge. You can use bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, or both to clean your fridge, inside and out.
The best thing of all is that the cost is a fraction of what you are probably already spending.
